Information you provide

If you use our contact form to report a hotel or an update, we collect what you enter: the hotel name, your message, and your name and email address (so we can reply). We use this solely to review and, where accurate, publish or correct listings, and to follow up with you if we have questions about your submission. Submissions are forwarded by email to our support inbox, where we track and reply to them; the website keeps a copy only until that email is delivered.

If you add a hotel or suggest changes at “Add or update a hotel”, no account is needed. We collect the hotel details and charger information you enter, an optional note, and your name and email address if you choose to give them (only to ask a question or say thanks; never shown publicly), any photos you upload (stripped of camera and location details, and kept private until a person approves them), and, only if you press “use my location”, your device's position to help place the hotel. Your suggestion is held privately until a person reviews it, and we keep a record of the decision. To limit abuse we also keep a short-lived, anonymised code derived from your connection that changes daily and can't be traced back to you.

If you create an account, we store your email address (to send you sign-in links), the hotels you save as favourites, and an optional public name you choose for crediting photos you share. Favourites are private to your account. Photos you send are kept privately until we review them; we remove location and camera details from every photo, and we delete the ones we don't publish. If you ask to manage a hotel's listing, we also keep the contact details and role you give us so we can confirm the request with the hotel. A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days; it is used only for your account, never for advertising or analytics.

Cookies and automatically collected information

Our admin login uses a single session cookie to keep an authenticated administrator signed in. It is not used to track visitors and is not accessible to the public site.

We may use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful. Analytics cookies are only set if you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner; if you decline or ignore it, Google receives only limited information without cookies (such as that a page was viewed) that isn't used to identify you. This site may show advertising served by Google AdSense and other third-party ad networks. These networks may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. We do not control these technologies directly. Listing feedback and page view counts

Unverified hotel listings have a “Does this listing look right?” control. When you use it we store your answer, the hotel and the date, together with a one-way scrambled value derived from your IP address and the day, which lets us ignore repeat clicks from the same visitor on the same day. The scrambled value changes daily and can't be turned back into your IP address, and we don't store the address itself. We also keep a count of how many times each hotel page is viewed per day; the count contains nothing that identifies a visitor. We use both to decide which listings to check first.

Affiliate links

Some "Book now" links on this site are affiliate links. If you book a stay after clicking one, we may earn a small commission from the hotel or booking platform, at no additional cost to you. This never affects which hotels we list or whether we confirm a hotel has EV charging (or whether that charging is free) — that is decided independently of affiliate relationships, and a listing is only marked Verified, or as having free charging, after a person has checked it.

How we use information

We use the information described above to operate and improve the directory, verify and publish hotel listings, respond to submissions, and — where advertising is shown — support the cost of running the site. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are deleted from the website as soon as they've been delivered to our support inbox, where we keep them, including ones that don't result in a published listing, so we don't need to re-research the same hotel later. If you'd like us to delete personal information you submitted (your name or email), contact us using the form and we will remove it unless we're required to keep it for a legitimate business or legal reason. Visitor suggestions stay in our review system, with any name or email you gave, until you ask us to remove those details. Account details and favourites are kept until you ask us to delete your account.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain uses of it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact form.

Links to other sites

Hotel websites, booking platforms, and other external links on this site are operated by third parties with their own privacy practices. We aren't responsible for how they handle your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
